Marina Banov is a teaching assistant and a PhD student at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Rijeka. She obtained her M.S. degree in computer science in 2022 from the University of Rijeka, Croatia, with a thesis in the field of computer vision. During her studies, she recieved the Dean's Award multiple times and was recognized with the Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence. In 2021, she participated in the Summer School on Image Processing in Rijeka, where she attended lectures and workshops to expand her knowledge and skills in the field of image analysis and artificial intelligence. She gained three years of experience in software development through internships and employment at companies specializing in financial security and assistive technology. Her research interests include machine learning, mobile robotics, and blockchain. She is a member of the IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Women in Engineering.
