The Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Mechatronics performs multi-, inter- and transdisciplinary research applying machine learning and artificial intelligence in analysing highly nonlinear and stochastic phenomena related to advanced automation and control of robotic and other mechatronics devices, including modelling and compensation of nonlinear mechanical properties such as tribological phenomena, achieving ultra-high precision positioning, automating multi-DOFs medical rehabilitation devices, optimising performances of energy harvesting and other high-end compliant devices, optimising experimental measurement campaigns and numerous other fields. The scientists working in the Laboratory synergistically integrate the complementary activities carried on at the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, the Faculty of Engineering, the Centre for Micro- and Nanosciences and Technologies and other constituents of the University of Rijeka, Croatia.
