AI and cybersecurity are applied and developed in interaction with the existing legal standards and regulatory framework. Regulatory developments are rarely able to keep up the pace with the technological advancements. A continuous revision of existing legal solutions is needed, which requires identification of overregulated, as well as underregulated areas in which law and technology intertwine. The laboratory will therefore support other laboratories within the centre concerning the legal aspects of application of algorithmic solutions and AI, processing and protection of personal data and development and guarantee of transparency in the use of AI-based innovative technologies.
The laboratory is dedicated to scientific research and professional activities, with special attention on the protection of competition and regulatory environment in the digital market, the influence of digital technologies on the labour market and social security, and particularly on legal aspects of digital solutions in health care and personalised medicine.
