The Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, with its interdisciplinary team of scientists from various faculties of the University of Rijeka, is a place of continuous meetings, exchange of ideas, collaborations, and creations of innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence, ensuring a high level of cybersecurity.
Scientific research team
The Center connects scientists from various fields, as well as other experts from the IT industry, working on different research projects (both scientific and for the industry). The Center is dedicated to acquiring new skills, competences, and knowledge resulting in a large number of joint publications in renowned journals.
Collaboration with the industry
The Centre fosters openness to the economy (high-tech, IT, and other companies, institutions, and organizations) with the purpose of increasing the knowledge transfer from academia to industry and vice versa. This way, the Center initiates the transformation of the local economy through the development of innovative digital solutions. The implementations of these lead to economic growth and increased competitiveness of the local economy. The goal of the Center is to help increasing the number of innovative companies and the creation of new high-the jobs in the region.
Internationalization
One of the goals of the Center is to include experts from abroad, both academia and IT industry, in the activities of the Center (proactive internationalization). The Center provides a platform for attracting high-tech partners from abroad to our region and helping them to establish their bussines in Rijeka.
Promotional and educational activities
The Center actively promotes science (especially STEM), advanced digital technologies, as well as research achievements of the Center. Through (formal and informal) lifelong learning, the Centre actively participates in raising the levels of digital and overall technological literacy of citizens in the region.
